“Very disappointed! Drove all the way from Cartersville because the menu looked great. When we arrived, the barmaid informed us the kitchen was closed until 5 (it was 3:30) and that we should go somewhere else. She was very rude. We were shocked at her behavior. Do not recommend at all!”

    ⭐ 1 Star — Aaron Mealer
“Had the worst experience here. We were never greeted. After sitting outside for 30 minutes with no service and multiple attempts to flag someone down, we left. A dog from inside the kitchen wandered up to us before we left. Gross.”

    ⭐ 1 Star — Karen C.
“Terrible experience. Food took over an hour and came out cold. The owner was yelling at a customer. Extremely unprofessional. Will not return.”

    ⭐ 2 Stars — James M.
“The food was mediocre at best. Schnitzel was dry and the potato salad tasted like it came from a grocery store tub. The waitress was kind but seemed overworked. Not worth the wait or the price.”
  1. From a menu‑site review:

“The Biden economy must be affecting the quality of food at Reens’? I ordered Jägerschnitzel because the picture on the menu with the abundant mushrooms in the gravy looked too good to pass up! … To my surprise (and disappointment), my Jägerschnitzel looked nothing like the photo on the menu. The flavour … it just wasn’t there! And the MUSHROOMS…they definitely weren’t there!” Roost Cafe and Bistro

  • From the same source:

“It’s ok if you find yourself in Dahlonega craving German food, but definitely worth driving to Helen for better. Reens’ is a tiny hole‑in‑the‑wall restaurant with limited inside seating and even fewer parking spaces. The portions are a bit on the smaller side, but adequate. The taste though is only fair. I’ve had better schnitzel and currywurst at my job’s cafeteria.” Roost Cafe and Bistro

  • From a summary on Wanderlog:

“The food quality is average. The Jägerschnitzel was decent, most likely fried and not pan cooked. The potatoes were also fried, which was a bit too much fried food for me. The sauce … should have been more creamy, like it is usually served in German restaurants. The decoration and atmosphere were not really enticing and original. … There is a lot of room for change.” Wanderlog

Owner is a drunken fool who likes to yell at customers and embarrass himself. He is probably just mad about his little schnitzel.

The owner likes to drink. The food is bland, overcooked and cold. Spaetzle was all pre-made and stuck together. Please avoid this place if possible. Not even German themed! More like Subway themed!

On the day we ate there for lunch, a group of about 20 old bikers came in and the kitchen was not ready for a group of this size. Our food took about an hour and fifteen minutes before it was even made. The kitchen and the owner were fighting and the owner screamed the “F-bomb about 30 F’-in times. But that didn’t stop the drunk owner from going back out to the deck and continuing to drink with his friends and play with his dogs. Meanwhile the waitress kept walking by telling us our food was next and just another minute, that went on for about 45 minutes.
At the one hour mark, the waitress apologized and told us we would be getting a discount for the long wait and our food would be out in just a minute. Fifteen minutes later the food arrived the order was wrong. They gave us the wrong sides and said there was no charge for them and brought out our correct sides.

Sad to say but we as customers should not have heard all the yelling and F-bombs from the drunk owner or all the complaints from the cook how they ran out of everything or from the waitress.

On the other hand, the food was excellent, very delicious.

Food had absolutely no flavor, we got the large soft pretzel with cheese and mustard…. Cheese was ice cold and tasted old, mustard was straight up mustard seeds. No refills on drinks, currywurst was essentially sausage covered in ketchup. Potato salad had no flavor, baguette was ice cold and felt freezer burnt – honestly food was horrendous. We went to Taco Bell after

The jagerschnitzel was bland as all hell, and so was the sauce. The spaztle was flavorless filler that even salt couldn’t provide taste to. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the owner came over to start jabbering my ear off, talking about all the yahoos that come into the restaurant from some other god-forsaken state. It sucked half a decade ago, and it sucks now.

New ownership is ruining this place! Have been to Bratzeit several times over the years and was always great. Now the service has completely fallen off and the food isn’t much better. We were told “don’t come back” by the owner because we tried to provide some feedback about not getting a drink after 15+ minutes. On the previous visit we got the Black Forest cake, and it tasted freezer burnt and was as dry as the Sahara. DON’T GO! No matter how bad you want a schnitzel.

Don’t waste your time coming to this place. Waited 15 minutes, weren’t even asked what we wanted to drink. I realize places are still having issues finding people, but this place is over the top bad. We also brought the issue up to the owner who then proceeded to tell us to not come back if we don’t like it. This place used to be great, but new owners are not business people and don’t care about customers.

Was disappointed in this curbside attractive pub. Food was poorly prepared, would not waste my money on it again.

One lousy bratwurst regular sized 10.50 wouldn’t fill up a cat, potatoe pancakes taste good but skinny and nothing to them. 30.00 for lunch and we left hungry. Everything is an up charge and extra ! Not even kraut included ! Cold pretzels, not even Brie cheese heated! Never again one and done

We were certainly disappointed with our experience, given the many positive reviews.

Our food (Jaggerschnitzel) was over cooked and it, along with the sides and dessert, completely lacked flavor.
